What an unusual finish this bangle in the form of a snake has and what do you think of its glass eye? Do you trust the early date?

I love the is bangle and so want to know more about it. I think the most likely route is to find an expert in costume jewellery. Do you know anyone with that expertise or how about finding out if there is someone at the V & A who can throw some light on it?
